This Noise Between Us
2009/05/21

Let´s go ambient and who´s up for that if not This Noise Between Us, this Toronto Canada based ambient /experimental music project is masterminded by EK Poll. The debut album “500 Experiences” was released in 2008 independently and for free on the Internet. The latest album “Death by Misadventure” was also released for free March 01 2009.
The particular genre of music is difficult to accurately classify as it suggests many different forms of electronic music without subscribing to a specific style. Genres range from ambient to chillout and even some shoegazer. At any rate, This Noise Between Us will take you on a journey deep in the cerebral cortex.
All tracks are DRM-Free and are usually available in 192k and 320k mp3 formats. This Noise Between Us is commited to continue to release their music for free.
So PLEASE go and get some of this wonderful music HERE!
Mozdzer, Danielsson, Fresco
2009/05/21

Sorry for the lack of post the last month but i´ve been pretty much out of order with a bad knee, but hey everythings about to get better with a successful surgery from the best doctor in Scandinavia and springtime on the rise you can´t feel down!
In the past month i´ve been listening to loads and loads of new music though and one of the albums that been on repeat is Mozdzer, Danielsson & Fresco´s “Between Us And The Light”
This trio consists the most superb polish piano player Leszek Mozdzer accompanied by Swedish bass player Lars Danielsson and the Israeli percussion player – Zohar Fresco, have created something of a Dream Team Trio. This Dream Team sounds like a dream indeed – lightly, dynamically, with the touch of reflection at times. And as in a good poetry – imagination does not argue with discipline, and the visualization comes along with intellectualism.
PLEASE BUY THIS ALBUM!!

The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation
2009/02/23

A companion “group” to Jason Köhnen and Giedon Kiers The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble wich i blogged about a couple of weeks ago, The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation is the antithesis of the jazz ensemble concept. Wreathed in subterranean drones and undulating tone waves, The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation is the sort of lounge act one would find playing in the lower circles of Hell, down were time dilates to infinity and every action takes epochs to complete. It is deep, cold, dark, and suffocating. It is to a radio friendly pop song as glacial drift is to rapid climatic change.
This infected satanic jazz madness is released on the Berlin based label Ad Noiseam.

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble
2009/01/25

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble are a gloriously creepy crawly mutant jazz combo, equal parts DJ Shadow’s Endtroducing, seventies horror movie soundtracks, late night jazz and super sluggish blown out trip hop.
To this day KDJE only released one full album wich is selftitled. They represent as a full on group, not one dude and his laptop, unfurling haunting imaginary soundtracks, dark and dense, smoky and noir, everything in rich lustrous shades of black and grey, shuffling jazzy skitter underpins melancholy moaning horns bathed in reverb, pizzicato strings and minor key guitars hover and dart furtively, a drizzly rainy day jazz dirge, so creepy and mysterious and lovely, and that’s just the first song. The rest of the record wanders similarly rainslicked streets, hat pulled down low, collar pulled way up, face obscured by shadows, the wet streets reflecting the orange grey glow of the streetlights, the buildings like totem poles of shadowy ghosts, the sky a blackish grey, turning the vibrant city into a lonely monochrome.

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble - Amygdhala from the selftitled album
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble - Solomons Curse from the selftitled album

Kammerflimmer Kollektief
2008/12/31

Kammerflimmer Kollektief began as the one-man experimental excursions of Thomas Weber. Trapping ambient noise, live and synthetic drums, guitars, strings, upright bass and keyboards into interlocking rhythmic explosions, Weber expanded the group to a live six piece in 1999 and has been brilliant and busy ever since. From their Karlsruhe, Germany home base, this ensemble effortlessly blends experimental electronic elements and moody free-form jazz to stunning effects with acidly dark sounds.

Kammerflimmer Kollektief – Neumond Inselhin from the album “Cicadidae”
