2009/12/15

Finally i had my first DJ gig under the name of DEEP ARCTIC and what a success, the music i play is deep electronic music, everything from dubstep via techno via electro to funky stuff. I try to give the people a musical experience with music that´s not commercial, one thing is for sure people gonna dance! Made that pretty clear the other day i had my gig.

time

Ohhh time is passing by pretty fast and i´m back to reality and also back to share some music in this blog, i´m soo full of new music in all forms and colours that you did not believe existed!

Also meet many new promising artist that i gonna love to introduce you all to. But first some of the dopest shit i´ve listen too in many years, Daniel Savio who also is the man behind a complete new genre that he calles Skwee and that is a musical style, with origin in Nordic countries Sweden and Finland.

Skweee combines simple synth leads and basslines with funk, r’n'b or soul-like rhythms, overall rendering a stripped-down funky sound. The tracks are mostly entirely instrumental, though there are exceptions. The name refers to the use of vintage synthesizers in the production process, were the aim is to “squeeze out” as interesting sounds as possible. The video this song is also pretty fuckin´ KOOL!

error broadcast

Please let me introduce you all to Error Broadcast wich is is a record- and a netlabel who releases all their music in reasonable quality for free or purchase uncompressed audio and to make you kids remember what it was like back in the days, every release is accompanied by a limited edition of vinyl 7″s with password to download exclusive tracks and remixes.

Error Broadcast refers to Chuck D´s idea of Rap as an alternative social organ. The term works as a tribute to traditional Golden Age Hip Hop the same as it underlines the collective’s self-perception as “independent”.

The latest release is called “Bag Of Nothingness” wich is a compilation that features 17 fresh new artists , each of them delivering their respective style of unique experimental Hip Hop. Heads from the US, Germany, Russia, UK and many other countries are with us. From “Bag of Nothingness” you can guess what the brand Error Broadcast will represent in the future: undogmatic Hip Hop joints, equally influenced from contemporary abstract electronic (dance-) music, DIY culture and digital turntablism, you know this is one of those albums where all tracks are good. First of all sorry for the lack of posts, been on a short vaccation! So let me make up for this and give you some untouchable tunes.

Jedi Knights and Global Communication’s Mark Pritchard returns to Warp Records to release his debut album “When Machines Exeed Human Intelligence” under the guise of Harmonic 313. Not to be confused with his hip- hop inspired library music compositions with Dave Brinkworth as Harmonic 33, Pritchard has created his own vision of the future of electronica, taking influence from the dubstep scene mixed up with robotic sounds, spacebeats and deep and sometimes dark approach.

A mix of electro beats, harsh distorted basslines, atmospheric washes and Detroit like stabs, the album cements Pritchard’s position as one of the UK’s most diverse and eclectic electronic producers.

Please check out Harmonic 313´s website it´s pretty rad!

alif-tree

This French music alchemist is a self-pronounced DJ and cook, who sings, writes, plays guitars, pianos, percs and scratch samples, then records, mixes, remixes again and again and often speaks to himself as a fervent defender of acoustic sounds, from philharmonic music to pop via smoky nu-jazz, blues, melancholy emotions, that combine simple acoustic jazz elements with spacious, multi-dimensional, synthesized ambience and very mellow beats to world music.

Alif Tree has navigated through the universe or recording-studios, sound-stages and television, as much as record-labels, for the past fifteen years. Sailing the seven seas of space in zero gravity, between trip-hop under classical influence, instrumental hip-hop and jazzy electronica.

Alif is today signed to the Munich based record label Compost, established by Michael Reinboth in 1994. In the words of the inimitable Gilles Peterson Compost is “the most consistent and forward thinking record label of continental Europe.

Amon Tobin

I guess (and hope) you all heard of Amon Tobin a.k.a Amon Adonai Santos de Araújo Tobin if not i´m pretty sorry for your lifes!! He is without doubt one of the biggest underground heroes alive on planet earth today, who has delivered so much good music the past decade, this blogpost is a celebration of Tobins´s career!

The Brazilian musician, DJ, and producer known for his massive sound walls blending trip-hop sampled jazz fused with drum and bass, intelligent dance music and samba, often with a pretty dark and deep approach is best known for his use of sampling, where a small section of a previous recording is manipulated to produce a new sound. His use of this technique has changed over the course of his career. On his original singles under Ninebar and his first three albums, Tobin acquired all of the samples to produce music from his personal collection of vinyl records, nowadays he manipulates the sounds with a combination of audio hardware and software, and the original source is often not recognizable in its new context. His techniques began branching into technical sound design, taking break beats or single instruments, modifying specific frequencies, and producing new sounds. Tobin is signed to the ever so reliable label Ninja Tunes.
