Phour Trakk

When the god of small things and the Indian goddess of music get together, then Phour Trakk might be the cause. After his previous side trip to the roaring maze of western metropolises, he packs his bags again in order to leave eastbound while in his mind he has already arrived there. And it goes without saying that he has remembered to slip into clothes both typical for the country and comfortable.

Consequently, his fourth EP on iD.EOLOGY comes along in a guise just as colourful, elegant and rich in texture as a dhoti by Manish Malhotra. Hilarious Bollywood-style vocals meet earthy downbeats, eastern harmonies contrast smoky blue-notes and breezy tabla-rhythms blend with deep fretless basses heavy as lead. While the memories of the skyscrapers’ silhouettes slowly fade, all these details, all these small things coalesce to generate a wistful anticipation of a far-away culture.

Before fascination and rapture now make you light a candle and start making oblations to the gods, you might as well slip into something more comfortable and give this e.p. another thorough listen or two. After all, Phour Trakk has hidden quite a few more niceties for the attentive listener. Or was this, too, the god of small things in the end?

Zeitgeist-DVD1

This blog is really about music, this post is only for the one´s that missed the movie (hopefully not that many) Zeitgeist, wich is film that was released on Google Video in the spring of 2007 and was created by Peter Joseph. Essentially the video covers three areas of Interest.

Part I, entitled “The Greatest Story Ever Told” evaluates Christian beliefs and asserts that it was all taken from pre-existing myths, primarily Egyptian mythology.

In Part II, entitled “All The World’s a Stage” it goes on to talk about how the US Government knew about the attacks on September 11th, 2001 before hand and that it was a large conspiracy and cover up — essentially an it was an inside job.

Lastly we are told in Part III, entitled “Don’t Mind The Men Behind The Curtain”, that powerful bankers and world leaders are conspiring for world domination and consolidation of power.

Remeber not to believe in all thing you hear and read but this movie will for sure open your mind and get you thinking! Go HERE and watch the full movie for free.

PS. I WOULD LOVE TO GET SOME COMMENTS ABOUT THE MOVIE DS.

Drum And Bass

2009/05/23

drum-and-bass-LI have to admit that i´m really into dnb music, this genre which emerged in the mid 1990s is characterized by fast breakbeats (typically between 165–185 bpm, occasional variation is noted in older compositions), with heavy sub-bass lines. Drum and bass began as an offshoot of the United Kingdom rave scene. Over the first decade of its existence, the incorporation of elements from various musical genres lent to many permutations in its overall style.

Today i guess the scene is really underground but there is soooo much good dnb being produced nowadays with artist like Calibre, dBridge, Marcus Intalex, Lynx, Kemo, Aaron Jay, High Contrast, Doc Scott etc. The trend today is more to the deeper sound.

One of the best places to get going in listening to dnb is to visit www.breaksblog.biz where you will find hours and hours of studio and live mixes from diffrent artist, please give it a chance you want regret it!

This is the intro to Lakai Footwear´s skateboard movie “Fully Flared” with the wonderful tunes of M83. Look and get blown away to outerspace!

Let´s go ambient and who´s up for that if not This Noise Between Us,  this Toronto Canada based ambient /experimental music project is masterminded by EK Poll. The debut album “500 Experiences” was released in 2008 independently and for free on the Internet. The latest album “Death by Misadventure” was also released for free March 01 2009.

The particular genre of music is difficult to accurately classify as it suggests many different forms of electronic music without subscribing to a specific style. Genres range from ambient to chillout and even some shoegazer. At any rate, This Noise Between Us will take you on a journey deep in the cerebral cortex.

All tracks are DRM-Free and are usually available in 192k and 320k mp3 formats. This Noise Between Us is commited to continue to release their music for free.

So PLEASE go and get some of this wonderful music HERE!

Sorry for the lack of post the last month but i´ve been pretty much out of order with a bad knee, but hey everythings about to get better with a successful surgery from the best doctor in Scandinavia and springtime on the rise you can´t feel down!

In the past month i´ve been listening to loads and loads of new music though and one of the albums that been on repeat is Mozdzer, Danielsson & Fresco´s “Between Us And The Light”

This trio consists the most superb polish piano player Leszek Mozdzer accompanied by Swedish bass player Lars Danielsson and the Israeli percussion player – Zohar Fresco, have created something of a Dream Team Trio. This Dream Team sounds like a dream indeed – lightly, dynamically, with the touch of reflection at times. And as in a good poetry – imagination does not argue with discipline, and the visualization comes along with intellectualism.

PLEASE BUY THIS ALBUM!!

Mozdzer, Danielsson & Fresco – Abraham´s Bells from the album “Between Us And The Light”

Mozdzer, Danielsson & Fresco – Light Up The Lie from the album “Between Us And The Light”
